On July 27, 2003 Sonny Trillanes IV along with other armed soldiers took over a residence building in what became known as the Oakwood mutiny. The soldiers were tried and sentenced to life imprisonment, the natural course for that crime of mutiny. If that weren’t enough, next, as Senator, his second incident was the 2007 Manila Peninsula siege. The drama was complete with an Armored Personel Vehicle crashing through the hotel lobby.
Now the President finally corrects the error of long ago. Trillanes’ amnesty has been lifted, and thus he is reinstated as a criminal offender. Crime should not pay. A disruptor of daily life has to face up to charges. Trillanes as a soldier should be brave, if it befits a soldier or a PMA graduate. He should be brave to face the consequences of his actions. Or have soldiers turned the other way now, led by the Senator?
De Lima is a woman senator at least man enough to do the time in prison. Her co-senator involved in rebellion should come clean. If during your amnesty period, you have to be accused of a crime such as libel, why haven’t you given up wrongdoing? You were not put in amnesty to do a crime again, idiot.
Now questions need to be answered by the Senate, how long will they harbor and protect a criminal, just because he is a Senator? Justice delayed is justice denied to the Filipinos disturbed by the gun-toting rebel. Can I also avail of the Senate protection when I do a crime? Peter Lim, the recent fugitive drug lord should hide in the Senate, just in case the likes of Trillanes is allowed.
The Senate now has to explain why De Lima and Trillanes is in their roster. Purge the evil from among you Senate. You are humiliating your whole group by the antics of these proud Senators. Do they represent you, and you Senate the whole Philippines? Kindly do your countrymen a favor, and denounce the existence of these morons. You are like a school with 2 kids thrashing the tables, burning the classrooms. Please expel verbally and effectively, these two delinquents.
Senators, how deep is your bond with them compared to the FIlipinos you should serve? How ethical is the Senate that a drug offender and a mutineer are their outstanding members? Would murder, arson or theft be the next offense you let your Senator get away with next? Who would your number 3 bad Senator be?
On a Senator criminal note, there is a Senator that protects Actors that rape women (He is not the number 3 a while ago, i hope). I’ll have a sip of my Pepsi while I reflect on that one.
Next time someone does a crime, he should run for Senate. If the offender wins, at least we know that they can avail of free air-conditioned board and lodging. And the offender is safe alongside like-minded people.
